"The object of this organization shall be the encouragement of organized rifle and pistol shooting among citizens of the United States, residents in our community, with a view toward a better knowledge on the part of such citizens of the safe handling and proper care of firearms, as well as improved marksmanship. It shall be our further object and purpose to forward the development of these characteristics of honesty, good fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship and the foundation of true patriotism." CCSC Bylaws, Art.II CCSC members meet every Thursday morning at 10 am at the Outpost Range, Lecanto, FL. Members have the opportunity to hone their skills on a variety of firearms with experienced members available to encourage, instruct and provide support. Qualified range officers carefully monitor the action at all times with safety being the most important objective. CCSC members come from all walks of life; nursing, teaching, career military, banking and accounting, fire fighting, flying, shipping, government, management and blue collar skills, just to name a few. These days the majority of members enjoy more leisurely activities including travel, photography, volunteering, gardening and many other interests. Members have found that while the interest in shooting and learnimg more about it brought them together, an appreciation for each other's widely varied life experiences and interests make the weekly gatherings enriching times. CCSC is proud to have two members who are NRA Certified Range officers, one of whom is also an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor. U.S. citizens need to know not only the words but the history of the documents and what the framers intended when they were written. As a public service we have provided links to the documents and encourage everyone to not only study these but to do some research to learn more about them and the reasoning behind them. Now more than ever it is vital that citizens understand the documents and what they mean to each of us. Along with that citizens must hold politicians responsible for following them and hold them accountable when they do not. |
